Gabe + Amelia Horton

October 14th, 2023

Pine Bush, NY

Gabe and Amelia were immediately such a genuine, sweet love to capture— their entire engagement gallery is proof. It still fills me with warmth and admiration when I think of how beautiful their wedding day was. As if Beauty and the Beast conspired with Pride & Prejudice for an unforgettably romantic day. I am so excited to share all the sentimental details with you. One of my favorites is that the venue is family property, filled with memories and traditions that were woven into their day.

I love that Amelia had her close friends Ashlyn and Nicalina do her hair and makeup. There was something so nostalgic and fuss-free about these girlies getting ready together in the warm lamplight, using a vintage vanity in a home they cherished.

Are you planning a wedding day that feels like you? I would love to chat if you are. Feel free to reach out here.

Can you feel the love? Watching these men help each other with the final touches, laugh together, share hair product with Gabe, and tell him how good he looked was honestly such a joy to witness. This is just the tip of the iceberg when it came to how much love went into Gabe & Amelia’s wedding, truly.

Gah, the FEELS. This is why I do what I do. The happy tears, the giddiness, the nervous deep breath, the soft touches, the giggles, the pure joy. It is a gift to get to experience the range of emotions that come with being bonded in union to your true love. It is my personal treasure to get to capture all of them—for Bride, Groom, family, friends, and future generations.

Another special part of this ceremony was recreating a picture that’s a family tradition—the wide shot over the bridge with the water. I entrusted that one to my second shooter and she killed it.

Something that stands out to me about Gabe & Amelia is how easily you can tell that they love each other by noticing the things that clearly didn’t matter to them. It didn’t matter that it was raining. Shoes and hem covered in mud, hair wet all day, no golden hour photos. They laughed, flirted, ate, drank, partied, and thoroughly enjoyed their beautiful wedding day because they focused on what was important to them—each other and their loved ones.

I came home with soggy socks and craving a hot shower, but I would relive this day a thousand times over for this amazing couple.

There was so much love on this phenomenal day. It ended with surprise fireworks, courtesy of Amelia’s Dad. An actual fairytale. I am so grateful they chose me to preserve these and many more beautiful, emotional, fun, precious, wild moments.
